My First Sewing Project

While going through some old pictures I stumbled across the picture above. My very first sewing project; a pincushion to hold my beloved helpers the pins. When i first saw it, I was slightly stunned for a minute. To simply look at it, i can see so many things now that should have been done differently; the uneven squares, the outer stitches should be hidden, etc, etc. I can only now say that I am so thankful to Abba YHWH, who gave me the strength to never give up and continue doing what is now my business and my hobby. I am sew very thankful. ;)

I can do all things through Yahushua, who strengthens me.

Paint Swatch Garland Tutorial

I have a really fun and easy tutorial for you all today, made out of paint swatches and thread along with a few other simple things.

You will Need:
paint swatches
thread
scissors
sewing machine
pencil
round object (i used my thread)

The pictures are pretty self-explanatory, but just in case I added a bit of words :)
Trace out your circles on the swatches.Cut out as many as you think you will need for your desired length. I was going to drape this on the window so I cut out plenty.
Line them up on your sewing machine and stitch all along, carefully adding circles when the previous one is  to the end.
And you are done! Now just hang up wherever you want to!

The Blue Striped Skirt

My latest sewing project- a lovely blue striped skirt for a cute toddler who I babysit. She loves to dance, spin, and jump, and she needed a skirt that would not stop her from doing all these activities.

I decided to make a tiered skirt, but just before giving it to her I added another tier, so that it would fit for a few more years and for an extra twirliness :) She loved it, and promptly wanted to wear it. Made me happy.

What was your latest crafty project?
